Welcome to My Adventure Story
Welcome lovely readers! If you are wondering about "my muchness," it refers to a self-descriptive term Alice Kingsley refers to in the wonderful Alice in Wonderland. She refers to muchness as a way to measure your courage, bravery, and kind heartedness. I have always loved Alice. Anyway. To begin our story we must head back to summer of 2014.
I had everything figured out to begin my senior year. It began and before I knew it we were having our Christmas break. High school flies by faster each year you're there! So before I knew it, it was time to have a set goal of where I'd like to be in 10 years. All of the sudden the weight of becoming an adult was pushing me out of the nest and it was time to fly. My ultimate goal was to go to Snow College for a semester where I would begin my papers and leave for an LDS mission in January of 2016.
I felt good about that. Wonderful about that plan actually. Let us now fast forward to April, of 2015- ish. I received a message from a wonderful friend who was currently working as a nanny in the wonderful place of Dusseldorf, Germany. She had asked if she could call me after school. Naively, I figured she just needed me to do her a favor and I thought nothing more of it. After school I made the call that would change my life forever.
Ever since I was a small child I dreamed of places to travel and people to meet. I had no idea that somehow, I would be so graciously blessed to be able to do that. I thought that the best way to do that is to serve a mission, but little did I know, Heavenly Father had big plans for me before I journeyed to serve Him. So when I was given the offer of nannying for the next year, I was a bit confused. Why would Heavenly Father give me that opportunity if He wants me to go on a mission?
The more I get into this story, the more you will learn that I am sappy and I think way too much. So we will leave it at this. Heavenly Father has some many wonderful plans for me. He has given me this tremendous adventure to take and I would be mad not to take it. I have grown so much closer to my Heavenly Father just in the decision making process, and He can only lead me to the opportunities to grow even closer. So me decision? Let go, and let God take over. There are so many wonderful blessing that come from this that I have not even had a chance to see yet. But in preparing for this adventure I have grown closer to family and I have made some wonderful friends to help me along the way. Little things kept happening that helped remind me I was doing the right thing.
So to wrap this up. I have been hired as a nanny by the most wonderful of parents, and I made the big move on August 1, 2015. I faced a big fear of traveling alone, and flying over an ocean all night. Once arriving here I feel unstoppable. Haha. I can just remember the wonderful advice of my Mother; "Heavenly Father has a mission for you over there. He's going to get you there safely." Luckily for me, I still feel that way! So thank you for supporting my online Journal and please, remember how loved you are, and ask yourself this question; What good is living the life you've been given if all you do is stand in one place?
How darling is the view from this adorable kitchen? The windows here are awesome.
The lovely kiddos and I when we first arrived in Dusseldorf. Sight seeing was mandatory!
We also went for the most scenic of bike rides and I felt like a mighty woman when I got this thing going. ( but between you and I it has a motor that helps when you ask it to;) )
Till next time loves,
Hanny the Nanny
